Box Score SALEM, Va. (4/23/10) -- Lisa Lee went 2-4 with five RBI and threw a complete-game to lead eighth-seeded Eastern Mennonite University to a 6-2 win over top-seeded Guilford College in Friday's opening round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Softball Tournament.
The Royals (16-16) advance to play Friday (4/23) night at 7:30 p.m. against fourth-seeded Lynchburg College, a 4-3 winner over number-five Bridgewater College. The Quakers (28-12-1) take on Bridgewater in an elimination game Friday at 5:00 p.m.
Kimberly Keys' RBI first-inning single gave the Quakers a 1-0 lead, but Lee (4-7) settled down to scatter five hits the rest of the way. Guilford had runners reach base in every inning, but Lee stranded 11 runners in the game.
Courtney Allman's solo homer in the fourth off of Guilford starter Jessica Burcham (10-6) marked the Royals' first hit and tied the score at 1-1. Lee gave Eastern Mennonite the lead with a two-out, three-run homer in the fourth, her third round-tripper of the season.
Guilford scratched out a sixth-inning run to make it a 4-2 game, but Lee plated two insurance runs in the top of the seventh with a two-out single off of reliever Shelby Bowser.
Eastern Mennonite's Jessica Blosser was 2-4 and scored twice. Guilford's Keys had a game-high three hits and Courtney Kozar was 2-3 with an RBI.
