Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

EMORY, Va. (4/17/10) -- Guilford College set the school record for wins in a season with a doubleheader sweep of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Emory & Henry College Friday. Guilford (27-10-1, 12-4 ODAC) won the opener, 10-0, in five innings, and the nightcap, 16-3, in five innings. The 2009 team set the previous mark with 26 victories.

The Quakers' Charissa Duncan set a school record with three homers in the opening game, which helped Guilford set a new standard with five homers in the contest. Kimberly Keys' two-run blast fueled Guilford's five-run third inning, which helped the Quakers overcome a 2-1 deficit. Guilford scored nine times in the fifth frame, with Duncan delivering a solo homer and a grand slam in the inning.

Duncan, who also had a school-record 12 total bases, was 3-3 with four runs and a career-high six RBI, one off the Guilford mark. Keys was 3-4 with five RBI and teammate Julie Langseth went 3-4 with her eighth homer of the year. The offensive outburst supported starting pitcher Jessica Burcham, who improved to 9-5 with four innings of six-hit ball.

Ami Hutcherson was 3-4 with two RBI and Langseth hit another home run in the Quakers' 10-0 nightcap win. Guilford pitchers Shelby Bowser (9-2) and Emily Willis combined on a three-hit, five-inning shutout. Hutcherson and Morgan Andrews both had two RBI.

Ashley Ebersole had two hits in both games for the Wasps (1-19, 1-13 ODAC).
