GREENSBORO, N.C. (3/11/10) -- Guilford College's softball team swept two games from visiting Bridgewater College Thursday in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) openers for both teams. The victories marked the Quakers' first over the Eagles in school history. Bridgewater had won the previous 17 meetings between the two schools.

Julie Langseth's bases-loaded groundout scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning of Guilford's 3-2 comeback win in the opener. Heather Jenkins took a perfect game into the sixth inning before Guilford's offense erupted for three runs.

Guilford also rallied in the nightcap, which was played in a steady rain for the final five innings. Trailing 4-2 entering the sixth inning, Morgan Andrews hit a three-run double in the inning to give Guilford the lead.  Shelby Bowser earned her second win of the day with 4.2 innings of five-hit relief.

The Quakers (12-3-1, 2-0 ODAC) return to action Sunday (3/14) against North Carolina Wesleyan at 1:00 p.m.
