Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. (10/16/10) -- Four different Quakers scored in opening 38 minutes to carry Guilford College to a 4-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's soccer win at Bridgewater College Saturday.
Guilford (9-3-3, 5-1-1 ODAC) won its third straight match and extended its unbeaten streak to a season-high seven (4-0-3) matches.
Ethan Byrd and Richard Page both tallied in the opening 10 minutes as the visiting Quakers jumped to a quick 2-0 lead. Greg Carnovale (pictured) notched his second assist of the game when senior Jordan Alexander scored in the 24th minute to make it a 3-0 Guilford lead. Rookie Josh Berry closed out the Quakers' scoring in the 38th minute with his second career goal, off a Kereith Pinnock helper.
Rookie Michael MacVane took over for classmate Marko Mandalinic in goal after halftime. He recorded five of the Quakers' six saves and allowed Shane O'Donnell's goal in the 58th minute that provided the game's final margin.
The Quakers visit Roanoke College Tuesday (10/19) in an important league match. The Maroons own second place in the league standings with a 6-1 league record (12-3 overall). Guilford is in third place with a 5-1-1 mark.
