Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. (2/7/09) - Tracey Croner scored a game-high 20 points in visiting Guilford College's 64-57 women's basketball win at Eastern Mennonite University Saturday afternoon. The victory ended Guilford's five-game losing skid versus the Royals (12-9, 7-9 ODAC) and marked the Quakers' (9-12, 8-8 ODAC) first win in Harrisonburg since 2005.
Guilford sophomore Lauren LeFevers scored nine of her 12 points off the bench in the second half, including a three-pointer with 5:59 left in regulation that opened a 54-48 Quakers' edge. Eastern Mennonite's Brittany Snyder, who scored 14 second-half points, made it a 54-52 game with 4:13 remaining, but the Royals drew no closer. Guilford made 10 of 12 second-half free throws, including all eight shots in the final 64 seconds.
Eastern Mennonite overcame Guilford's 7-0 start and reeled off 25 of the game's next 37 points to take a 25-19 lead with 4:28 to play in the first half. The Quakers ended the period on a 9-0 run for a 28-25 halftime lead.
Croner had 10 points in both halves of her team-leading third 20-point game of the year. She also had five rebounds, one off of Jasmine Wood's team-high total of six. Junior Alexa Williams contributed nine points, five rebounds and a career-high three blocks in her first start of the season.
Snyder's 17 points and five three-pointers paced the Royals, who suffered their fifth straight setback. Miranda Wolfe added 11 points and Danielle Scott finished with nine.
The Quakers end the regular season on a four-game home stand that opens Wednesday (2/11) against visiting Lynchburg College. Eastern Mennonite host Randolph-Macon College Tuesday (2/10) at 7:00 p.m. in a league game.
