Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. (10/24/09) -- Guilford College played 21st-ranked Washington and Lee University to a 1-1 overtime tie Saturday night in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's soccer match.
The Quakers' Bri Eilman scored in the 71st minute to knot the score at 1-1 and force extra time. Eilman's team-leading seventh goal of the season marked just the second allowed by the league-leading Generals' in ODAC play.
Washington and Lee (12-1-2, 8-0-2 ODAC), ranked 21st in this week's adidas/National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III Poll, got on the board in the 35th minute when Maggie Sutherland headed in Page Minton's corner kick.
The Generals outshot Guilford, 33-4, and had a 13-0 edge in corner kicks. Guilford goalie Kat Adams made 13 saves, two in overtime. Emily Leary stopped two shots for the Generals.
Guilford returns to action Wednesday (10/28) at 6:00 p.m. versus league-rival Emory & Henry College.
