Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (10/8/08) - Sophomore Ellie Taylor scored two goals and an assist to lead host Guilford College to a 4-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference soccer match over Hollins University Wednesday afternoon on rainy Haworth Field. Junior Jada Daniel added a goal and two assists for the Quakers (5-7, 3-2 ODAC), who won their third straight match.
Sophomore Jackie D'Orsaneo converted a Daniel feed less than five minute into the match for a quick 1-0 Guilford lead. Taylor doubled the margin in the 25th minute with an unassisted tally.
The Quakers took a 2-0 lead into halftime and increased the lead to 3-0 on a Daniel goal off a Taylor assist early in the second half. Taylor's second goal of the match and her team-leading fourth of the season ended Guilford's scoring with just under 15 minutes to play.
Colleen Thamm scored on a penalty kick in the 78th minute to account for Hollins (1-8, 0-6 ODAC) scoring.
Hollins' Elizabeth Bills made 17 saves in goal playing before her hometown crowd. Senior Amber Stapler made both Guilford two saves before giving way to rookie Kat Adams.
The Quakers host Meredith College Friday (10/10) in a nonconference match.
