Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (1/18/08) -- Eastern Mennonite's Ebony Dennis scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Royal in a come-from-behind victory over host Guilford College, 57-48, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball game Friday night at the Ragan-Brown Field House.
The Royals (10-3, 6-2 ODAC) erased a six-point halftime deficit outscoring the Quakers (9-4, 5-4 ODAC) 35-20 in the second half. A three-pointer by Ann Seufer at 8:49 in the second half gave Guilford a 41-36 lead, but Eastern Mennonite would outscore the Quakers down the stretch 21-7. Although the Royals only shot 31.6 percent from the floor, they converted on 18 of 21 free throws to seal the game away. The Quakers shot 31.3 percent from the field and 6 of 13 from the free throw line.
The Royals' Carolyn Riley scored nine of her 13 points in the second half and converted 9-10 free throws in the game. Riley was joined by Jolene Kratz who also scored 13 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine in the game. Eastern Mennonite was outrebounded by Guilford 46-43, but outscored the Quakers 26-20 in the paint.
Guilford's Tracey Croner led the Quakers with 12 points, while Alexa Williams grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
Guilford returns to action Saturday afternoon (1/19) against visiting Bridgewater at 3:00 p.m
