Emory, Va. (9/26/06) -- Jennah Carter scored two goals for the fifth time this season and helped visiting Guilford to a 2-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win over Emory & Henry Tuesday. The Quakers won for the sixth time in seven matches to improve to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the ODAC. Emory & Henry falls to 5-3 (1-2 ODAC) with the loss.

The Wasps' Tarra Wardrup got the hosts on the board first, but Carter answered 12 seconds later with the equalizer off a Micki Boulineau assist. Just under two minutes later, Carter hit the game winner off a Jada Daniel feed. All of the scoring took place in the first half. Carter has a team-leading 12 goals on the year and 26 points.

Guilford outshot the hosts, 22-8. Veronica Zych made two saves in goal for the Quakers while her counterpart, Meredith Ledford, made 12 stops.

The Quakers host Lynchburg Friday at 4:00 p.m. in a rematch of last year's ODAC Tournament final.
