Greensboro, N.C. (10/07/06) -- Visiting Washington and Lee continued its best start in school history with a 2-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's soccer win over Guilford Saturday. The Generals, ranked 25th in this week's NSCAA/adidas Division III National Rankings, improved to 9-0-1 on the year, 4-0 in the ODAC. Guilford drops to 3-6-1 (0-3 ODAC).

Josh Dodds got the Generals on the board midway through the first half on an unassisted goal shot through a crowd in front of Guilford goalie Zane Campbell. Washington and Lee doubled its advantage with 29 minutes left in the match on a Jack Palmer tally set up by Kyle Garcia. Jim Tartaglia made two saves in goal for the shutout.

Campbell made nine saves for Guilford. The Quakers were outshot, 23-7. The Generals had all 10 of the match's corner kicks.
