Carter Scored Three in Guilford Soccer Win over Sweet Briar

Greensboro, NC (10/19/05) -- Junior forward Jennah Carter scored her second hat trick of the season and helped Guilford to a 6-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) soccer win over visiting Sweet Briar Wednesday.

The Quakers' second straight win improves their record to 9-5-2 (5-4 ODAC) and helps their chances of hosting an opening round ODAC Tournament match Oct. 29. Sweet Briar falls to 4-11-1 (1-8-1 ODAC) with its sixth straight setback.

Carter tallied the Quakers' first three goals within a 14-minute span early in the first half. The hat trick gives her a team-leading 15 goals this year, the seventh-highest total in Guilford history. She moved into fifth place on the school's career goals list (23) and into fifth in career scoring (59 points).

Junior midfielder Chelsea Glover netted a goal and an assist for the Quakers. Sophomore Micki Boulineau added two assists. Guilford enjoyed a 24-1 shots advantage. Danielle Brisotti and Veronica Zych combined on the shutout, with Zych recording the Quakers' lone save.

Kristen Johnson made a game-high eight saves for Sweet Briar.

Coach Eric Lewis' Quakers returns to action Oct. 22 at league-rival Hollins. The Vixens host Lynchburg Oct. 25 at 3:30 p.m.
