Box Score The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selected Guilford College senior Amy Evans (New Bern, NC/New Bern) as the league's Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of October 8. The announcement marks the fifth time Evans has received the award in her career.
A senior forward/midfielder, Evans scored four goals and added five assists in four games this past week. In the Quakers 7-0 road win against Peace October 10, she recorded two goals and a career-high four assists, matching Guilford's record for assists in a game. She also broke the school's record of points in a season breaking the 44 point marker. Evans broke her own school record with her 20th tally in a 3-1 lost against Bridgewater October 14.
Evans leads the ODAC with 51 points on 20 goals and 11 assists, all league- and career-high figures. She now holds school records for assists in a game (4), single season goals, single season points, career goals and career points. She has 155 career points with 67 goals and 21 assists in 72 matches.
Evans' play has helped coach Forrest Collier's club to a 7-9-1 record (3-6 ODAC), the team's most wins since 1998. Evans plays her last regular season home game Tuesday, against Washington and Lee at 4:00 pm. The Quakers end their regular season by traveling to Virginia to play ODAC opponent Emory & Henry October 18.
