Greensboro, NC(09/12/00) — Junior Noam Sorek (Atlit, Israel/Ort Hiriat Bialik) scored with 43 seconds left to secure Guilford's 3-2 men's soccer win over Ferrum Tuesday. Sorek recorded a career-high four points in the win, which extends Guilford's unbeaten streak to four matches.
The Quakers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second half on a pair of Tim Imafidon (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest-Rolesville) tallies just over five minutes apart. Sorek assisted on both scores. Imafidon's two goals mark a career-high.
Ferrum College answered when sophomore forward Patrick George scored in the 77th minute of the game off a cross from freshman back Matt Hubbard. George was not done. He scored again in the 86 minute to tie the game at 2-2. Freshman forward Emmanuel Jones picked up the assist.
Sorek hit the game winner in the 89th minute off a pass from senior back Brandon Costilow (Birmingham, AL/Vestavia Hills). Costilow passed the ball from the top the box down to Sorek who touched the ball past the Ferrum keeper.
