GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Guilford College volleyball team (5-12, 2-2 ODAC) battled Randolph College (10-5, 2-1 ODAC) Wednesday night at the Ragan-Brown FieldHouse, falling to the Wildcats after back and forth sets (25-21, 25-14, 26-14, 25-22, 15-13).

The Quakers finished the match with 56 kills, 55 assists, 13 aces, 6 blocks and 81 digs. Guilford also posted a .225 hitting percentage compared to Randolph's 129, while the Wildcats stayed even with 50 kills, 49 assists, 12 aces, 6 blocks and 70 digs.

Olivia Thorne (Huntersville, N.C.) once again led the Quakers with 17 kills, with
Olivia Roberts (Claremont, Calif.)Â adding 13 into the mix.
Jillian Mapes (Hodges, S.C.) led the team with 44 assists, 3 blocks, 2 aces and 13 digs. Libero
Vivian Cavataio (Mechanicsburg, Pa) had a steady night producing 17 digs, 6 aces and 3 assists.
Guilford and Randolph battled through five competitive sets Wednesday evening, with the WildCats ultimately earning a 3-2 victory over the Quakers at the Ragan-Brown Field House. Randolph claimed the opening set, 25-21, before Guilford responded with a strong second set, taking a 25-14 victory to even the match at 1-1.
The back-and-forth battle continued in the third set, with Randolph narrowly edging Guilford, 26-24. The Quakers answered once again in the fourth set, overcoming the WildCats, 25-22, to force a deciding fifth set. Randolph then secured the final frame, 15-13, to take the five-set victory.
The Quakers are back in action this Saturday in Rock Hill, S.C. on October 3rd for some tri-match non-conference play against Paine College and Clinton College. The first match is set to begin at 10:00 AM.
