Schedule For Football’s 2026 Campaign Announced

New-look Quakers remain in the Gate City through week six, enter campaign with optimism

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Preparing to return to the gridiron for the fresh campaign filled with fresh faces, the Guilford College football team prepares for another year competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and announced their 2026 schedule on Wednesday morning.

In a season where individual and team milestones grasped the headlines, the Quakers completed a 2-8 mark that included a 1-7 record in ODAC action during the truncated 2025 season. Superlatively, however, GC just generally saw signs of improvement, battling in a cluster of tightly contested contest, nabbing their first league victory since 2022, with high-scoring victories over Gallaudet University, and earlier Methodist University, standing out along the way. Now led by newcomers who project to play major, impactful roles, Guilford hopes to feature a robust offensive attack to go with their typically sound defensive scheme.

"We had a good and competitive spring season on both sides of the ball," Head Coach Brad Davis said. "The guys crushed it in the weight room but we all understand that there is a lot of work still to be done. We are very excited to get this season underway in August."

As is traditional, the Quakers kick off the 2026 campaign with the Soup Bowl with this year marking the 26th season with the event against Greensboro College. The week 1 clash will be played on Saturday, September 5 under the lights of Pride Field, with kickoff set for 6 PM. Fans are reminded about the annual food drive associated with the contest, and are encouraged to begin stocking up on non-perishable food items to benefit the Greensboro community.

Guilford frequents Appenzeller Field early in 2026, returning to their home turf for week two and not needing to venture away from the Gate City until week seven. First up will be Methodist on Saturday, September 12 with the GC aiming for their fourth-straight win over their in-state foe. As has been customary, they will open up under the lights for their home-opener with kickoff set for 7 PM between the Quakers and Monarchs.

The cardinal and grey go from a long-standing foe, to a first-time opponent, as out of a week three bye, Guilford hosts Brevard College who ventures northeast from the mountains to clash under the lights of the Armfield Athletic Center on Saturday, September 26, starting at 6 PM.

Surpassing the midway point of their homestand, GC turns the calendar, and the page to ODAC play the rest of the way, beginning with Roanoke College on Saturday, October 3. GC's homecoming weekend clash, the weekend features a bevvy of activities on campus, highlighted by a 1 PM kickoff at Appenzeller Field.

Wrapping up their string of hosted showdowns, it will be the Quakers and Eagles of Bridgewater College on week six with a 1 PM start time set for the ODAC clash on Saturday, October 10.

Guilford hits the road for a pair of hyphenated foes, venturing to Hampden-Sydney College and Randolph-Macon College on week seven and eight respectively, with both encounters set for a 1 PM kickoff.

Finalizing their home slate before the calendar change with Senior Day Saturday, in addition to Hall of Fame Weekend on Saturday, October 31, Guilford welcomes Washington & Lee University to the GSO on week nine. Kickoff for GC's home finale is set for 4 PM.

The Quakers close 2026 on the road, first visiting Averett University for a week 10 contest on Saturday, November 7 then visiting Shenandoah University on Saturday, November 14 for week 11. Both of those contests will kickoff at 1 PM.
