Nominations Open For Guilford Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026

Induction ceremony and celebration of the 57th class scheduled for October 31st

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College Athletics Department has opened nominations for the Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

Nominations will be accepted from today, June 15th, through July 15th and can be submitted through this form (NOMINATION LINK).

The 57th class into the Guilford College Athletics Hall of Fame will be selected by the Hall of Fame Committee and announced in August. The induction ceremony and Hall of Fame Weekend will be October 31st when the Quakers clash with Washington & Lee University.

Honoring the achievements of the college's outstanding individual athletes, teams, coaches, and supporters who have enhanced and reinforced the college's commitment to athletic excellence, the Guilford College Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1970 and celebrates the significant and impressive contributions of each of its members. These honorees are the individuals and the teams who, through their athletic talent and dedication to sport, have brought prominence to Guilford athletics and competition at the conference, regional and national levels. It is due in large part to their extraordinary accomplishments that Guilford College's reputation in the world of sport continues to grow and gain respect.

To be eligible for induction, a former Student-Athlete nominee must be a Guilford College graduate having completed their athletic and academic career at GC 10-or-more years prior. They must also have been a varsity athlete for two-or-more seasons and should be at least one of the following: All-Conference member for two-or-more years, All-District/Region Selection, All-American, National Champion, or distinguished athletic performer on a regional and national level.

Coaches, administrators, and special supporters of Guilford College Athletics are also eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame, if they have a nomination submitted on their behalf detailing the special nature of their contribution to Guilford College and have conducted themselves in a manner that brings credit to Guilford College.

More details about the nomination criteria can be found at the provided link (NOMINATION CRITERIA).

Nominations are effective for five years after they get nominated for the first time. If not inducted during that time, the individual or player will have to be nominated again for consideration by the Hall of Fame Committee. Nominations may not be submitted by a candidate themselves, or a family member.

Nominees will only be notified of their induction into the Hall of Fame by the Hall of Fame committee, and not for their nomination. In addition, all nominees are subject to a background check and must sign a disclosure statement prior to receiving an official invitation into the Guilford College Athletics Hall of Fame.
