GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford College Athletics welcomes
Karli Sewell as the department's new Strength and Conditioning Coach, bringing more than six years of experience in sports science, athlete monitoring, rehabilitation, and high-performance training to the Quakers.
Â
Sewell joins Guilford following extensive experience working with athletes across youth, collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletics. She most recently served as the Director of Remote Development with Bo Jackson's Elite Sports in Chicago, where she designed and implemented remote performance programs for collegiate, high school, and professional softball athletes.Â
Â
Alongside her work with Bo Jackson's Elite Sports, Sewell served as a Remote Return-to-Play Coordinator for Rush Hospital. In that position, she collaborated with orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, and sport coaches to develop individualized return-to-play programs. Her work included designing sport-specific protocols for baseball, softball, soccer, and cross country athletes, as well as developing objective performance benchmarks to guide rehabilitation progression.
Â
Prior to these roles, Sewell spent nearly five years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning for OGX Softball, now Driveline Softball, where she built and led the organization's strength and conditioning department and coordinated performance programming with multiple high-level collegiate programs.
Â
A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Sewell earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology/Neuroscience from Hendrix College in 2019, where she was also a four-year member of the softball team.Â
Sewell will lead Guilford's strength and conditioning efforts while working to support the development, performance, and preparation of Quaker student-athletes across all sports.
