GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College men's and women's basketball teams, in collaboration with both Shenandoah University and Virginia Wesleyan University, and in the safety and best interests of all involved, have adjusted their weekend Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contests, the departments announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Guilford's women's basketball's highly anticipated ODAC matchup against Shenandoah will get moved up a day to Friday night, January 30
th, with tipoff set for 6:00 PM inside the Ragan-Brown FieldHouse. The Quakers men's basketball team also made a tweak to their ODAC Quarterfinals rematch with the Marlins on Saturday, moving tipoff up two hours, now set for 12:00 PM in the TowneBank Arena on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University.
The change comes in the midst of a wild week of weather in the region, with a major winter storm that caused significant icing causing hazardous travel last weekend serving as a prelude to another snow storm hitting the area this weekend. With the adjusted times, the departments hope for better road conditions for all participants, workers, and fans. In that vein, Guilford Athletics would like to emphasize the interest of safety as the games approach, and wish all attendees safe travels.
