FOREST, Va. – The Guilford College athletics department saw a record-setting 205 student-athletes recognized by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on the 2024-25 ODAC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference offices on Wednesday afternoon.
Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in any of the 25 conference-sponsored sports, 20 of which GC competes in, and they are eligible regardless of academic class. A student-athlete must achieve at minimum a 3.25 grade point average for the academic year to be eligible for ODAC All-Academic Team recognition.
For the Quakers, their 205 honorees obliterates their previous all-time high of 182 from back in 2019-20, cracking the 200 selections threshold for the first time. One-of-eight ODAC squads to have 200-or-more athletes honored, GC's total ranks seventh overall in the league.
The Guilford football squad led all Quaker rosters with 42 players receiving recognition. Behind them was baseball with 23 honorees and women's soccer with 21 selections. Men's soccer and volleyball rounded out the top-five for GC with 16 athletes recognized apiece.
Conference-wide, 3,364 student-athletes earned the distinction, breaking the previous high of 3,175 from 2023-24. Of the 19 affiliated schools in the ODAC, 12 of them set a new high-water mark for number of honorees with this being the second-consecutive year the league cracked 3,000 cumulative selections.
