FOREST, Va. – The Guilford College athletics department saw 13 student-athletes recognized by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) on the 2025-26 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams for the winter and spring seasons, as announced by the conference offices Friday afternoon.
Selected by the coaching staffs, a single student-athlete from each team that competes in the conference is selected as they best represent the Quakers and the ODAC as a whole for their dedication to fair play and good sportsmanship during competition.
"Sportsmanship and respect are fundamental to the ODAC's mission," ODAC Commissioner Brad Bankston stated in the conference release. "These student-athletes have been recognized for their commitment to fair play and respect for their opponents—qualities that deserve greater recognition. I thank these honorees for setting an outstanding example for all of us."
Among the honorees, a tandem of ladies stood out at third-time honorees.
Bess Parnell (Cairo, Egypt) accrued her third ODAC Sportsmanship team nod after sweeping the Quakers honor in both indoor and outdoor track & field last year while her teammate,
Piper Campbell (Wilmington, N.C.) nabbed her third honor as this year's women's outdoor track & field honoree after being recognized in cross country each of the prior-two seasons. GC also saw a pair of student-athletes earn this recognition for the second time in their careers, as men's tennis'
Emmanuel Oye (Clayton, N.C.) and women's lacrosse's
Karly Smith (Greensboro, N.C.) each repeated as their team's honoree.
