FOREST, Va. – Capping his decorated five years in Greensboro,
Wyatt Dwyer (Seattle, Wash.) of the Guilford College men's lacrosse team took home his third-consecutive all-conference honor, getting named to the All-ODAC Third Team as announced by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) offices on Wednesday evening.
Dwyer becomes the first Quaker to crack the All-ODAC team thrice in a career, emerging from the pack of nine multi-time All-ODAC honorees in the history of the men's lacrosse program.
Undoubtably among the best defensemen the conference has seen since the start of his career, it is no surprise Dwyer continued his success in his fifth season. Finishing dead-even with teammate,
Drew Sizemore (Greensboro, N.C.) atop the conference leaderboard for total caused turnovers, with 44, and caused turnovers per game, with 2.44, Dwyer stands tied for 29
th nationally in the per game statistic entering NCAA Tournament play across the country. The stay-at-home defender also scooped 54 groundballs this season, the second-most on the team and 15
th-most in the league, dishing the first two assists of his career as well. On the larger level, while the team's goals against average rose from last season's mark of 13.23 to 13.95 this year, it is ballooned by a handful of tough showings and conversely, GC showed stretches of superb defensive play, specifically in their four-game span from April 9
th through the 19
th. In those contests, the Quakers went 3-1 and held the opposition to single-digits on the scoreboard in each game, the longest stretch the program has seen since 2019, and the most such performances in a row in ODAC contests since joining the league in 1992.
Cracking the ODAC Tournament field for the second-straight season for the first time since 2015 and 2016, the Guilford College men's lacrosse program concluded 2025 with an overall record of 5-13 but 3-7 in league action before getting bounced from the ODAC Tournament by Randolph-Macon College.
