Women’s Soccer’s Berry, Brown, Named Third Team All-ODAC

Berry becomes 13th multi-time honoree in Quakers program history

FOREST, Va. –The Guilford College women's soccer team was represented by Kylee Berry (Kernersville, N.C.) and Lily Brown (Boone, N.C.), who were each named Third Team All-ODAC for the 2025 season by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), as announced by the conference offices on Wednesday afternoon.

In a brilliantly competitive season conference-wide, one that saw the league place a trio of teams in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022, the Quakers did end up seeing themselves on the outside-looking-in come the conference tournament despite finishing their fifth-straight winning season, good for their longest stretch in program history. The 39 total all-conference selections were distributed across nine separate programs this season, with GC finishing as one-of-eight squads to feature multiple honorees. Bridgewater College and Washington & Lee University paced the ODAC with eight selections apiece this season. This is also the fourth-straight year in which Guilford has had multiple All-ODAC picks, the second-longest streak in program history behind a 12-year stretch from 1997 through 2008.

With a see-saw between a pair of freshmen in net for the Quakers this season, back-end stability was more-crucial than ever and Berry provided that this fall for Guilford. The anchor in the middle held down a GC backline through a season that saw them post a 1.28 goals against average and seven shutouts, ranking sixth and tied for eighth in a single-season in program history. Entering the start of the national tournament, the squad ranked sixth in the league and 191st in the nation out of 412 teams for scoring allowed, while rising to 174th nationally with a .389 shutout percentage. All this while the junior stepped up to be more-involved in the Quaker attack, finishing third on the team in points and second in goals with 13 and five respectively, with both marks ranking within the top-30 in the ODAC. The Kernersville native made her goals count, too, with one game-winner and one equalizer for GC, while three of her tallies came in matches that finished within a one-goal margin. Berry buried both of her PK attempts this fall, while in league action she contributed a goal and two helpers. Berry becomes the 13th Quaker to be a multi-time All-ODAC honoree, and just the third to do so while playing defense.

Guilford's top offensive threat, Brown bounced-back after a quiet 2024 season to bring balance and finishing ability to the Quaker attack this fall, pacing the team's national top-100 scoring offense in points and goals while finishing tied for second in assists. As a collective, GC stands 99th in the nation and seventh in the ODAC by netting 2.06 goals per game entering the start of NCAA Tournament play, while rising to 87th and sixth respectively in points per contest with 5.89. Standing within the national leaders and tied for 14th in total assists, Brown set up five goals but did most of her damage herself this fall. Netting a team-leading six tallies, the native of Boone ranked tied for 15th in the conference while a majority of her production this season came in league play, with five goals and two assists, more-than doubling any other Quakers' goal output in league action and nearly duplicating the feat with her total 12 points produced. Both of Brown's game-winning goals came in ODAC play this fall, placing her tied for 13th overall and tied for fifth when only considering conference contests. Brown is a first-time All-ODAC honoree herself, however this does mark the fifth-straight season in which GC has placed a forward on the all-conference team.

As a collective, Guilford women's soccer finished the fall 9-7-2, good for their fifth-straight season with a winning record. However, as the only team in the league to matchup with all-eight ODAC Tournament squads, they faced a brutal schedule in league play and thus missed out on the conference tournament with their 3-7-0 mark making them the first team out of the field.
