Men’s Tennis Dominate Panthers On the Road to Open 2024 Spring Slate

No more than a game dropped per set amongst all matches

Box Score FERRUM, Va. -- The men's tennis squad made the short trip state-side to Virginia, beginning spring play against Ferrum. Like the previous season, the Quakers did not drop a single set, and won by a convincing 9-0 margin.

Guilford moves to 1-0 in the spring, while Ferrum drops their third straight, sitting at 0-3.

Two freshmen made their collegiate spring debuts, as Brandon Hermes (West Hartford, Conn.) partnered with reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year Andres Mercedes (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) for a victory at the no. 1 doubles position, 8-0. Incoming freshman Turner Johnson (Oak Ridge, N.C.) slotted in at no. 6 singles, and won by the 6-1, 6-0 margin.
