Scola Introduced as Cross Country & Track and Field Head Coach

The Guilford College athletic department would like to introduce Kevin Scola as the new head coach of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

"I'm very pleased to welcome Coach Scola to Guilford Athletics," Bill Foti, Director of Athletics mentioned. "He brings a wealth of collegiate track and cross country experience. He's a proven recruiter who has historically grown his rosters for both men and women."

Scola comes to Guilford College after spending the past six years as the head coach of the cross country and track and field teams at Lander University. During his time there, Scola restarted the cross country program and kicked off the track and field program.

"I want to thank Athletic Director, Bill Foti and the rest of the search committee for giving me this opportunity," Scola said. "I'm extremely excited to be back in the Triad and to be at a wonderful school and campus. There's some great athletes here and I'm looking forward to working with them and building the program up."

Prior to Lander University, Scola was an assistant coach with the same programs at Frostburg State University, working primarily with the distance runners and cross country. He also served as a graduate assistant at Rutgers University, working with both cross country and track and field.

Scola earned his bachelors at High Point University in Sport Management in 2006. In 2010, he received his masters in Liberal Studies from Rutgers University - Newark.
