The Guilford College softball team hosted Randolph College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader. The Quakers fell to the WildCats in both contests.
Game 1: Randolph 9, Guilford 1 (5 Inn.)
Randolph opened the game by scoring two runs on three hits in the opening inning. In the second, the WildCats added a run to extend their lead to 3-0.
In the third, the visitors scored six runs on five hits and two errors to garner a 9-0 advantage.
Caitlyn Ray got Guilford on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a solo homer over the left field wall.
After allowing the one run, Randolph shut down the Quaker offense and held on for the eight-run win.
Game 2: Randolph 10, Guilford 1 (5 Inn.)
In the second game, it took till the second inning for the visitors to get on board. They scored five runs on five hits.The WildCats added to its lead with four runs in the third.
Similarly to game one, Ray plated the first run for the Quakers as
Kassidy Lancos scored on a sacrifice fly. In the top of the fourth, Randolph added one more run before going on to win by nine.
Guilford will host the University of Lynchburg Hornets on Saturday, April 23 for Senior Day. Game one is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
