Roanoke took early control of the opening game by scoring three runs in the first inning. The Maroons added another run in the second.

Game 2: Guilford 5, #12 Roanoke 1
The second game was drastically different than the first has
Caitlyn Ray hit her seventh home run of the season as
Kassidy Lancos scored on the play. In the bottom half of the inning, the hosts pulled within one on a sacrifice fly to left field.
Following a scoreless second, Guilford looked to add some insurance runs. Both Ray and
Ally Morales scored on a
Casey Bunting single to center field. Later in the third,
Faith Fennell singled to center to drive in
Grace Calus.
With a 5-1 lead,
Alexis Lester only allowed two hits over the final five innings of play for the win. Lester's final line was one run on four hits and two walks in seven innings of work. Lancos and Calus each collected two hits while Bunting and Ray drove in two runs apiece.
Guilford returns to Haworth Field on Tuesday, April 19 when it hosts Randolph College in an afternoon twin bill. Game one is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
