Box Score MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Guilford College women's volleyball team claimed its season opener at Pfeiffer on Wednesday evening. Despite trailing early in the first set, Guilford took control and waltzed to a nice 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-22) victory.
The Quakers have met the Falcons four times since 2017 and have won all of the meetings in similar fashion, 3-0.
Senior Adison Needham led her squad offensively, contributing 10 to its tally of 22.
Rookie Maddi Page had an impressive outing, dishing out a team-best 31 assists.
Also impressive on the offense was Avery Lemons with her five service aces.
Defensively, Cam Blankenship and Devyn Norman each went up for four blocks. Cydney Scott led the digs category with 13.
Guilford played efficient volleyball with a hitting percentage of .174 while holding the hosts to a mark of .038.
The Quakers will return to action on Saturday as they travel to Averett University Invitational. They will take on Piedmont in the opening match at 2 p.m. on Friday.
