LYNCHBURG, Va. – Logan Sechrist scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the first half of Lynchburg College's 79-73 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's basketball win over visiting Guilford College Wednesday night. The Hornets (13-11, 7-8 ODAC) held off a Quakers' (13-11, 9-6 ODAC) second-half rally to split the season series between the two teams.

Lynchburg led from start to finish thanks to the Hornets' 53/6 percent field goal shooting in the opening half. Sechrist made three-of-four three-pointers, plus all four free throws and his 13 points led all first-half scorers. The Hornets used a 12-4 over the middle of the half to open a 14-point advantage. Reggie Davis' three-pointer two seconds before halftime sent the Hornets into the locker room with a 45-32 lead.

Lynchburg's lead grew to as many as 15 points early in the second half before a late Quakers' flurry made for an interesting conclusion. Connor Schroeder made two free throws with 1:50 left in regulation, which gave the hosts a 69-58 edge. A Carson Long three-pointer got Guilford to within 71-66 with 69 seconds left and his triple 33 seconds later drew the Quakers to within 75-71. Lynchburg made nine of 11 free throws in the final 1:15 to seal the win.

Chance Greene made all seven free throws in the final 75 seconds and finished with 18 points thanks to 10-of-12 shooting from the line. Schroeder finished with 10 points. Davis and Jesse Case both added nine points off the bench for Lynchburg, whose reserves outscored Guilford's 26-18. The Hornets shot 26-of-35 from the free-throw line, where the Quakers made 11-of-13 shots.

Long led the Quakers with 17 points and a game- and career-high 17 rebounds. Marcus Curry added 16 points and Alston Thompson scored 11. Joah Logan added nine points. Long, Curry, and Logan each fouled out. Jarrod Rogers distributed a game- and career-high 11 assists.
