Quakers Top Randolph, 8-1, in ODAC Men's Tennis Action

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College's men's tennis team scored an 8-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over visiting Randolph College on a windy afternoon on the McMichael Centennial Class Courts.

The Quakers improved to 4-7 (4-3 ODAC) with their fourth win in five outings. Randolph dropped to 8-6 (3-4 ODAC).

Guilford swept the doubles matches and took five of six singles flights as the WildCats' normal second singles player, J.T. von Seggern, missed singles play, which moved the rest of the team up a flight.

Three Quakers, Mesa Martorell, Levi Bruff and Graham Pearson, won twice. Martorell took the second-singles contest, 6-4, 6-4, from Trevor Johnson and teamed with Levi Bruff for a third-doubles victory over Johnson and Dario Schiano-Moriello. Bruff took the fifth-singles match, 6-1, 6-2, from Schiano-Moriello. Pearson teamed with Chasen Chacon for an 8-4 win over von Seggern and Q Manglapus at second doubles. He knocked off Joe Kaneda at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Bradley Strober accounted for the WildCats' point with a 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-5) win over Guilford's Erik Meiler at first singles.

Coach Dave McCain's Quakers visit Bridgewater College Friday (4/15) in a match rescheduled from last month.
