The Quakers (4-1, 1-0 ODAC) overcame Eastern Mennonite's (2-2, 0-1 ODAC) school-record 18 three-point shots in a school-record 45 attempts. Jerome Jones' three-pointer with five seconds left in regulation tied the game at 81-81, forced the extra period, and completed a Royals' rally from a 10-point deficit early in the second half.

A Long jumper followed by Dominique Henderson's traditional three-point play gave the Quakers an 86-81 edge 1:25 into overtime.

Isaiah Harris-Winn answered at the other end to get Eastern Mennonite back to within 86-83 and hit his fifth and final trifecta of the night that made it an 89-86 contest with 46 seconds left. Guilford broke the ensuing full-court press, which led to a Long dunk at the other end.
