GREENSBORO, N.C. – Washington and Lee University won a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's tennis decision at Guilford College Sunday afternoon.
The Generals (6-1, 6-0 ODAC) maintained their perfect league record thanks to hard-fought victories over the Quakers at first and third doubles, as well as fifth singles. Washington and Lee's top doubles tandem of Jordan Krasner and Will Bannister claimed an 8-6 win over Guilford's Turner Votipka and Trevor Cox. Christopher Hu and Robert Eckstein pulled out a 9-7 win over the Quakers' Levi Bruff and Mesa Martorell at third doubles.
Eckstein faced off with Guilford's Aaron Smedley at fifth singles and pulled out a 6-4, 6-4 win. Krasner topped Votipka at first singles, 6-1, 6-4, and Hu stopped Cox, 7-5, 6-1.
Coach Dave McCain's Quakers (2-3, 1-1 ODAC) host Shenandoah University Saturday (3/14) in a 2:00 p.m. home match at the McMichael Centennial Class Courts.
