Guilford Falls to Connecticut College in Men's Tennis Decision

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Visiting Connecticut College improved to 2-0 with a 7-2 road victory over Guilford College Thursday at the Quakers' McMichael Centennial Class Courts.

The Quakers slipped to 3-6 with their fourth straight loss.

The Camels captured two of three doubles points with wins in the first and second flights. Jonathan Deeter and Jonathan Kraiger teamed for an 8-0 win in the first tandem over Guilford's Trevor Cox and Aaron Smedley. Votipka and Blake Brown overcame a 4-1 deficit to beat Connecticut's Stephen Jones and Jonathan Sokolsky, 8-6, and send the Quakers into singles play down, 2-1.

Votipka took a 6-0, 6-3, first-singles victory over Joshua Suneby, but the Camels claimed the remaining five singles bouts. Kraiger posted his second shutout of the day when he downed the Quakers' Levi Bruff, 6-0, 6-0.
