GREENSBORO, N.C. – Visiting Washington and Lee University swept a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matches at Guilford College Sunday afternoon. The 10th-ranked Generals women improved to 10-1 overall (6-0 ODAC) with a 9-0 win over the Quakers (4-5, 2-3 ODAC). The 25th-rated Washington and Lee men (7-1, 6-0 ODAC) downed Guilford (5-3, 2-2 ODAC), 8-1.
Washington and Lee's Hayden White dealt Guilford freshman Tyler Mercier his first singles loss of the spring with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at first singles. Mercier teamed with Clayton Hamilton to score the Quakers' lone point, an 8-6 first-doubles win over Mac Davis and Will Hall. White and Michael Freeman earned an 8-0 win at third doubles for the Generals, one of their five victories in which they allowed one or fewer point.
