FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (10/8/10) - Lauren Bramble had 14 kills on .345 hitting to help host Methodist University rally to a 25-21, 18-25, 18-25, 23-25, 15-12 victory over Guilford College Friday night. The loss marked Guilford's (9-10) second five-set setback in as many nights.

Trailing two sets to one, the Monarchs (10-10) staved off a furious Guilford rally to win the fourth set 25-23. The Quakers trailed, 19-10, in the fourth set, but pulled all the way back to within 24-23 before an error gave Methodist the set-winning point. Jalesty Washington had six of her 13 kills and five of her 11 digs in the fourth set.

Setter Kayci Miller had 40 assists and 15 digs for Methodist. Stephanie Wood contributed seven kills, three service aces and four blocks.

Guilford's Brittany Freeman posted 16 kills and 13 digs. Teammate Traci Teague added 15 kills on .290 hitting and two blocks. Taylor Whitley had 47 assists and seven digs.

The Quakers are back in action Oct. 13 at Emory & Henry College.
