Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (2/3/09) -- Guilford defeated an injury-riddled Hollins squad, 70-26, in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball action Tuesday night in the Ragan-Brown Field House. The Quakers' defense held Hollins to five first-half points building a 30-point lead at the intermission. The 26 points matches third-fewest points allowed in a game. Guilford also held Hollins to 26 points in a 2006 win. 28 steals is a school record for the Quakers, one better than the previous mark of 27 set vs. Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 2001.
Guilford was led by Ann Seufer's 15 points and Jasmine Wood's eight rebounds. The Quakers (8-11, 7-7 ODAC) sweep the season-series over Hollins for the fourth straight year. Seufer set the school record for career three-pointers (167), breaking the former mark of 166 held by Jennifer King '06.
Hollins' (0-18, 0-13 ODAC) Tamara Phillips had 13 points and four steals in the loss.
The Quakers travel to Harrisonburg, Va. for a pair of conference games this weekend against Bridgewater College (Friday) and Eastern Mennonite University (Saturday). The games begin at 7:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. respectively. Hollins continues it's road swing with a game against Virginia Wesleyan Friday at 7:00 p.m.
