Randolph-Macon Overpowers Guilford, 80-49

Greensboro, N.C. (2/20/09) -- Randolph-Macon used a combination of strong shooting and stifling defense to defeat Guilford, 80-49, in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball action Friday night in the Ragan-Brown Field House. Never trailing in the game, the Yellowjackets came out quickly building a seven-point lead just five minutes into the game behind 50 percent shooting from the floor and 46 percent from behind the three-point arc. The lead ballooned to 21 points by halftime.

Randolph-Macon (19-5, 16-3 ODAC) had four different players finish with double-digit points led by Molly Ariail's game-high 21 points. Taylor Weiczorek and Maggie Roy chipped in 12 and 11 points respectively, while Amanda Hiltunen, added 18 points, a game-high six assists and five rebounds for the game.

Guilford (10-14, 9-10 ODAC) was led by Tracey Croner who shared game-high honors with 21 points.

The Quakers conclude their four-game home stand to end the regular season hosting Virginia Wesleyan Saturday afternoon (2/21) at 4:00 p.m. Randolph-Macon finishes its ODAC schedule traveling to Emory & Henry College Saturday afternoon also at 4:00 p.m.
