Box Score Greensboro, N.C. (1/5/07) -- Lindsay Riesbeck scored a game-high 21 points in visiting Randolph-Macon College's 76-67 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball win at Guilford College Friday night. The triumph extended the Yellow Jackets' (6-4, 3-2 ODAC) winning streak over the Quakers (6-5, 5-1 ODAC) to 11 games. The loss ended Guilford's longest winning streak since 2003 at five games.
Salem Shaffer added a double-double with 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for Randolph-Macon. She tallied 13 points in the second half on six-of-nine shooting from the floor. The Yellow Jackets made 50 percent of their second-half shots.
Fueled by Shaffer and Riesbeck's hot shooting, the two-time defending ODAC champions opened the second half on a 13-2 run that expanded their six-point halftime lead to 17 points. Three straight Shaffer buckets gave the guests their largest lead of the game, 61-43, with 9:08 remaining.
Guilford held the Yellow Jackets to one field goal in the final 4:54 and pulled to within 73-67 with 45 seconds left on Ann Seufer's second three-pointer of the half. The comeback stalled, however, as Riesback made a free throw and Amanda Hiltunen made two free throws to provide the game's final margin.
Hiltunen finished with 12 points and rookie Molly Ariail chipped in 10 points off the bench, eight in the second half.
Sophomore Tracey Croner led three Guilford students in double-figure scoring with 17 points. Jasmine Wood matched her career high with 16 points off the bench and added a personal-best seven rebounds. Alexa Williams notched her team-leading third double-double of the year with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Quakers host Virginia Wesleyan Saturday (1/6) at 4:00 p.m. The Yellow Jackets visit Emory & Henry Saturday.
