Greensboro, NC (3/13/06) -- Guilford College's Dave Whigham won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week Award for the second straight week Monday.

Whigham, a 6-1, 170-pound right-hander, pitched a complete-game two-hitter with nine strikeouts in Guilford's 5-0 ODAC win over Randolph-Macon March 11. The junior retired 16 of the final 18 Yellow Jacket batters for his team-leading fourth victory and first shutout of the season. Whigham (4-1) has not yielded an earned run in his last three appearances, a span of 20 innings. He leads Guilford with a 1.44 earned run average and 45 strikeouts in 31.1 innings. Opponents are hitting .193 against him.

Whigham's solid pitching has helped coach Nick Black's Quakers to an 9-6 overall record (2-2 ODAC). Guilford is in the midst of a five-game homestand and hosts Vassar Tuesday (3/14) at 2:30 p.m. Methodist visits McBane Field Wednesday (3/15) at 2:30 p.m.
