Greensboro, NC (02/16/05) -- Junior guard Jennifer King (Reidsville, NC/Rockingham County) poured in a game-high 19 points and added six rebounds in Guilford's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's basketball win over visiting Washington and Lee Wednesday. King scored 10 second-half points, including five in the span of 45 seconds late in the second half to break a 50-50 tie and give the Quakers the lead for good.
In a game marked by runs, Guilford (10-14, 8-11 ODAC) jumped out to a 16-point first-half lead behind seven points by senior Courtney Hill (Kannapolis, NC/North Rowan). Washington and Lee (12-12, 8-11 ODAC) whittled the lead down to eight behind Jessica Hunsinger's (Mayer, AZ/The Orme School) nine first-half points and trailed at the half, 33-25.
Hill, Guilford's lone senior playing her in final home game, posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards. Sophomore Dionne Graham (Savannah, GA/Jenkins) scored 10 of her 16 points in the second half and added two rebounds and four assists. Freshman Kendra Potter (Wise, VA/John I. Burton) contributed six points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
Junior Louisa Feve (Bethesda, MD/Winston Churchill) led the Generals with 15 points and six rebounds. Hunsinger tallied 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Senior Emily Barker (Clifton, VA/Mount Vernon) added nine points and five boards. Washington and Lee shot just under 34 percent from the floor in the game.
Guilford travels to Lynchburg on Saturday (2/19) at 2:00 p.m. for their season finale. The Generals return home to play league-rival Emory & Henry Saturday (2/19) also at 2:00 p.m. Saturday's outcomes will determine the lower half of the draw for the ODAC Tournament, which begins Feb. 24 in Salem, VA.
