Box Score Emory, VA Top-seeded Washington and Lee ended Guilford College's volleyball season Friday morning with a convincing 30-9, 30-11, 30-14, victory the eighth-seeded Quakers in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarterfinals. The four-time defending league champion Generals improved to 30-4 with their 23rd win in 24 contests. The Quakers end their season with an 8-18 record.
Washington and Lee was paced by freshman outside hitter Laura Maurer's seven kills. Freshman outside hitter Alex Scaggs notched six kills, while freshman outside hitter Jessica Ulrich and sophomore outside hitter Jessica Hudock each recorded five kills. Senior setter Christine Gladysz amassed 19 assists and four blocks, and junior libero Lauren Edmonson added 12 digs.
Guilford rookie middle hitter Brittani Leathern led the Quakers with eight kills. Freshman outside hitter Emily Becher added six kills and seven digs. Freshman setter Becca Jones had 15 assists. Freshman Jessica Smith contributed five digs.
The Generals advance to a Saturday morning semifinal match against the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between Virginia Wesleyan and Lynchburg.
