Ferrum, VA -- Senior Courtney Hill scored a game-high 26 points and added 11 rebounds in Guilford's 79-70 women's basketball win over Ferrum Friday night in the opening round of the Ferrum Tip-Off Tournament.

The Quakers (1-0) shot a blistering 56 percent from the floor, including 8-14 shooting (57.1%) from three-point range. Hill made 10 of 14 shots from the floor and added four steals in 40 minutes.

Three other Guilford players scored in double figures. Junior guard Jennifer King scontributed 17 points, seven boards and a team-high six assists. Sophomore point guard Dionne Graham scored a career-high 16 points and had five rebounds and four steals in her first college start. Rookie Noelle Sanders made five-of-six shots from the field, including three-of-four three-pointers, and finished with 13 points in seven minutes of work.

Aline Alzime paced the Panthers (0-1) with 14 points and a game-high 18 rebounds.

Guilford plays Averett Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the tournament's second day.
