Greensboro, NC (02/10/03) -- Junior A.J. Robertson (Eden, NC/Morehead) and freshman Jennifer King (Reidsville, NC/Rockingham County) scored 17 points apiece in Guilford's 77-62 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over Randolph-Macon Woman's College Monday night.
The Quakers' (16-5, 13-3 ODAC) sixth straight win extended their school-record home winning streak to 24 games. Guilford, ranked fourth in the most recent NCAA Division III South region poll, has won 13 of its last 14 games and 16 of its last 18 contests.
After falling behind by as many as 16 points in the first half, Randolph-Macon Woman's College (3-17, 1-15 ODAC) pulled to within 37-32 after rookie Meghan Stensrud (Fairfax, VA/Fairfax) capped a 10-4 Wildcats' run that opened the second half. The Quakers answered with seven straight points and never let the guests closer than seven points the rest of the way.
Robertson practically kept Randolph-Macon Woman's College at bay by herself, scoring 15 of her 17 points in the second half, including all three of her three-pointers. She also had three rebounds and three steals in 25 minutes off the bench. King added a game-best five assists, four steals and four boards to her 17 points. Courtney Hill (Kannapolis, NC/North Rowan) finished with 13 points and Jennie Keichline (Chapel Hill, NC/East Chapel Hill) added 10 for Guilford. The Quakers forced a season-high 31 turnovers, which led to 31 Guilford points.
Wildcats junior Amy Dameron (Fredericksburg, VA/Courtland) led all scorers with 18 points on seven-of-eight field-goal shooting. Amanda Workman (Renick, WV/Greenbrier East) chipped in 10 points off the bench and junior Morgan Greene (Chase City, VA/Bluestone) grabbed a game-high seven rebounds in their team's ninth straight defeat.
Guilford swept the season series with Randolph-Macon Woman's College and holds a 26-1 advantage in the all-time series.
The Quakers visit Eastern Mennonite Friday (2/14) in a league matchup of two of the South's top-ranked teams. The Wildcats return to Greensboro Thursday (2/13) for a 7:00 game with Bennett.
