Kelsey Goodman enters her first season as Head Coach of the Guilford College volleyball program after being hired as the fifth bench boss in program history in July of 2024.Â
Goodman comes to Greensboro after spending about two years as the First Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator at Seton Hall University from April of 2022 through June of 2024. In that span, the Pirates went 29-30 overall, 15-15 in 2022 and then 14-15 in 2023, with their winning percentages in those two seasons being the program’s two highest since 2017. Last fall, SHU went 8-10 in Big East play with their victories total being the program’s most in league play since 2017. There, she oversaw all aspects of recruiting to the Seton Hall Volleyball program, while also developing the libero positional training, scouting reports, and other aspects of the program.
Â
Prior to her stint in New Jersey, Goodman spent the 2021-22 academic year as Head Coach at Mitchell College out of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Presented with the unique challenges that the 2021 season posed, she guided the Mariners to a 6-16 record in her lone season in Connecticut.
Â
Goodman possesses great knowledge of the ODAC, having experienced the league both as a player at Roanoke College, and as a coach with Randolph College, where she spent two years after graduation from May of 2019 through July of 2021. She made an immediate impact as the WildCats won 13 games in 2019, their highest win total since 2014 at the time with the team also securing an ODAC postseason berth.
Â
An ODAC alumni out of Roanoke, Goodman played in 92 games across four seasons with the Maroons, while earning a degree in Health and Physical Education. There she served as team captain her senior year.
