Alex Payne

2014-15

  • appeared in 70 career games
  • averaged 2.2 points per outing in career
  • best season as a sophomore in 2012-13 when she averaged 2.6 points and 1.5 rebounds per game in 22 appearances for the Quakers’ ODAC Tournament champions that reached the NCAA Division III playoffs
  • 43 career three-pointers, the 18th-highest total in school history
  • played in 18 of the Quakers’ 27 games as a reserve guard
  • averaged 1.8 points in 9.3 minutes per game and shot 32 percent from behind the three-point line (8-for-25)
  • eight of her 11 field goals this season were from beyond the arc
  • scored a season-high six points in a Feb. 7 home win over Shenandoah University and in the Quakers’ Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarterfinal loss to Virginia Wesleyan College Feb. 27.
  • collected a season-best five rebounds in the last two games of her career, both in the ODAC Tournament.

2013-14

  • played in 14 of the Quakers matches
  • averaged 2.6 points and 0.7 rebounds per game
  • one of her best performances came against Averett University on Nov. 26, when she had 12 points and two rebounds

2012-13

  • averaged 2.6 points per game in 22 appearances off the bench
  • ranked third on the team with a .326 three-point field-goal percentage and fourth with 15 three-pointers
  • drained three three-pointers for a season-high nine points against York and Randolph-Macon
  • collected four rebounds versus Randolph-Macon
  • dished out four assists in a win over Meredith

2011-12

  • played in 17 games
  • averaged 1.8 points per game off the bench
  • grabbed 15 boards on the year
  • best performance came against Roanoke College Jan. 28 when she scored a career-high nine points
  • netted three shots behind the arc against Roanoke and also against Hollins College Feb. 14 when she also scored nine points

  • three-time member of Guilford's Student-Athlete Honor Roll
  • lettered four years for her mother, coach Kim Payne, at North Davidson High School
  • two-time All-Central Piedmont Conference (CPC) selection
  • named team MVP as a senior
  • lettered twice for the volleyball team as a middle hitter and received All-CPC honors
  • played one year of AAU ball for the Winston-Salem Steelers under head coach Trish Grant
  • completed an internship with Guilford College Athletics Hall of Famer David Heggie '98 at Bryan Family YMCA
