Guilford College

Alan Bowen joined the Guilford College football staff prior to the start of the 2021 season, after serving as assistant coach at Meridian High School in Meridian, Idaho. He worked directly with the linebackers and ran the scout team for Meridian High School. While residing in Meridian, Bowen also served as a personal trainer at Axiom Fitness.

Bowen began his football coaching career at Bluefield College, where he served as an Assistant Coach from August 2019 through April 2020. He worked primarily with the JV team, becoming a defensive assistant where he installed game plans, worked with film analysis and developed a strength and conditioning program.

Bowen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Bluefield College in December 2019. He then earned his M.B.A. in leadership through Bluefield College online courses, graduating in May 2021.

During his collegiate career at Bluefield College, Bowen was named 2019 Most Valuable Player of the team. He also was named 2018 Outstanding Spring Award winner. Bowen, a resident assistant, was on the Dean’s List on three occasions and was part of the United States Achievement Academy.
