2003

  • a 6-1, 180-pound relief pitcher, logged a 1-2 record with a 4.66 earned run average (ERA) and nine saves in a school-record 25 appearances
  • he ranked fifth in NCAA Division III (as of 5/18/03) and first in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) with nine saves, the second-highest total in Guilford history
  • he fanned 30 batters and walked nine in 36.2 innings
  • he notched his lone win by pitching a third of an inning in relief during Guilford's March 29 win over ODAC-rival Bridgewater 
  • he had three saves in league contests
  • in three seasons, Idol has a 2-5 record with a 5.75 ERA and 11 saves in 53 appearances 
  • he enters his senior season four saves shy of the school record and stands seventh in school history with 53 career appearances

 

 

2001: Mid-year transfer from Forsyth Tech... appeared in 13 games out of the bullpen... had 18 strikeouts... was the Quakers' only regular pitcher not to throw a wild pitch this season... threw three scoreless innings and yielded two hits in a March 2 appearance against the Apprentice School... Personal: Played for two years under Steve Pegram at East Forsyth... recieved MIP honors adn helped win the county tournament... part of the Vocational Honor Society and recived the Student of the Year and Crosby Scholar awards... son of Warren and Bonnie Idol
