An intense and relentless competitor… got off to a late start with the basketball team due to Guilford’s volleyball season…2000-01: finished her rookie season playing in 28 of 29 games, starting four... averaged 15.8 minutes per contest... scored a career-high 14 points against Washington and Lee on January 31... grabbed a career-high four rebounds in numerous games... completed the season ranked sixth on the squad in scoring averaging 5.6 points per game... shot .303 from behind the arc, which placed third on the team... High School: Graduated as the second-leading career scorer in Morehead H.S. history… three-time All-Triad 3-A Conference performer for Coach Jeff Hamilton… set the school record for career three pointers… played on the winningest senior class in school history… named the Rockingham County Player of the Year as a senior… a two-time team most valuable player and all-conference volleyball player… Personal: Appeared in all 32 matches as a middle hitter on Guilford’s volleyball team… played with a number of AAU basketball teams in the Greensboro area, including the Piedmont Express and Greensboro Gaters… born Amanda Jo Robertson in Eden, NC… daughter of Joe and Lorna Nichols… chemistry/biology (pre-med) major.
