GREENSBORO, N.C., - The Guilford College rugby team split a pair of matches that included a hard-fought 7-17 loss to Emory & Henry and a dominant 48-0 shutout victory over Warren Wilson.

In the opening match against Emory & Henry, the Quakers fought through a tough battle. Jasmine Cartwright (Kalispell, Mont.) provided the lone try for Guilford, while Caitlyn Reese (Noblesville, Ind.) successfully sailed the conversion kick through the posts to complete the scoring.

Guilford flipped the script in their second match, putting up 48 points against Warren Wilson. The Quakers' offense was unstoppable, crossing the try line eight times. The scoring was fueled by a balanced team effort, with tries coming from Zoe Tate (Laytonsville, Md.), Madison Yontz (Rural Retreat, Calif.), Adelia Mirie, Elliot Schei, Re'lla Grissett (Fayetteville, N.C.), and Brianna Folch (Bridgeport, Conn.).

Kickers Reese and Cartwright split duties cleanly on the afternoon, splitting the uprights for four successful conversions to finalize the 48-point victory.
The Quakers are back in action this weekend at home against the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, on Saturday, September 19.
