GREENSBORO, N.C. – Jesse DeLoof, newly-hired head coach of the Guilford College men's basketball team, was featured on the District 2 Sports podcast, that was released on Tuesday, discussing his time at his alma mater building up the program at Pitt-Bradford, what he looks forward to about competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), what he looks for when recruiting, and so much more.
Announced as the 15
th head coach of the Quakers men's hoops team a week ago, DeLoof ventures south at the conclusion of a five-year stint as bench boss at his alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Pitt-Bradford went 59-47 overall across four seasons under DeLoof's guidance, increasing their win total in each campaign, securing a winning record for the first time in a decade in 2024 then truly breaking through in 2025. The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Regular Season and Tournament Champions for the first time since 2003, Pitt-Bradford set the program-record for wins in a season going 24-4 overall and 14-2 in league play. The Panthers poured in 103.1 points per game in 2025, the third-most in the nation, while they also ranked third in steals with 14.1 per contest, achieving that with a plus-8.0 turnover margin. For his work, DeLoof was the AMCC Coach of the Year, D3Hoops.com Region 7 Coach of the Year, and a finalist for Hoop Dirt's National Coach of the Year honor.
