ROANOKE, Va. - The Guilford College cross country teams wrapped up their seasons on Saturday at the NCAA South Regional Championship hosted by Roanoke College at Green Hill Park in Roanoke, Va. The men's team came in 24th place among team finishes.
In the men's 8K race, 24 teams hit the course, while 26 teams competed in the women's 6K. Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Washington & Lee stood atop the podium for the men, while Emory University took home the number one spot for the women.
Yassine Aallam (Holly Springs, N.C.) was once again the top finisher for the men, placing 149th out of 170 NCAA Division-III runners from the South region, with a time of 31:57.70. Next up for the Quakers was
Jeremy Harway (Apex, N.C.) in 154th with his time of 32:23.0. Coming in 166th was
Tkwon Davis (Warren County, N.C.) with a time of 36:29.10. Rounding out the finishers for Guilford were
Ke'Shaun Alston (Warrenton, N.C.) and
JC Yañez (Thomasville, N.C.). Alston finished with a time of 39:00.60, good for 169th place, with Yañez finishing right behind in 170th with a time of 41:46.50.
Piper Campbell (Wilmington, N.C.) was the lone competitor for the Quakers on the women's side, finishing in 152nd out of 175 NCAA Division-III South region runners, with a time of 28:38.0.
This wraps up the season for the Quaker cross country squads.
